Marguerite Leona Walters

Marguerite Leona Walters, 103, Springfield, Va., formerly of Wausau, died Saturday, September 6, 2014 in Springfield. She was born August 26, 1911 in Wausau, daughter of the late Roy and Daisy Assel. Marguerite graduated from Wausau High School and was employed at the Fort Hays State College in Kansas from 1963 until 1975. Survivors include one son, Kenneth (Carol) Walters of Springfield, Va.; two grandchildren, Richard (Machelle) Walters and their children, Nichole, Jacqueline and Daniel and Colleen (Jerry) Patterson and their children, Abigial and Jerry; and one sister-in-law, Rosemary Walters-Resetz, Wisconsin. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Chester Walters in 1961; her second husband, Harold Virgil in 2000; and one son, Richard Walters. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, September 12, 2014 at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau. Rev. Norman Boneck will officiate.
