Margaret M. Torzewski

Margaret M. Torzewski, 82, Wausau, died Saturday February 16, 2013 at Azura Memory Care, under the care of Asera Hospice. She was born August 18, 1930, in Wausau, daughter of the late Alex and Celia (Barnish) Shulta. On February 23, 1952, she married Eugene "Lefty" Torzewski in Wausau. He preceded her in death November 11, 2001. For over 25 years, Margaret had been employed with the Wausau School District, retiring as secretary at Franklin Elementary School. Among her hobbies and interests, Margaret enjoyed traveling, was a wonderful cook, an excellent seamstress and enjoyed flower gardening, having earned the YWCA Garden of the Month Award. She was a loving mother and a deeply devoted grandmother, and the time spent with family was precious to her. Survivors include three sons, Gary Torzewski, Wausau, Dave (Mary) Torzewski, Wausau, Mark (Barbara) Torzewski, Green Bay, three granddaughters, Kristy (Kevin) Zoromski, Lacey (Phil) Lazarski, Hannah Torzewski; two grandsons, Trent (Special friend, Ellen Bonzell) Torzewski and Troy Torzewski, one great-granddaughter, Kiley Zoromski; two brothers, Edward (Ethel) Shulta, Rothschild, Fabian (Verna) Shulta, Wausau, sisters-in-law, Nora Shulta, Schofield, Christine Torzewski, Wausau and Mary Louise (Al) Walkush, Whiting. She is further survived by many special nieces and nephews, dear friends and neighbors. Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Leonard and Sylvester "Cy" Shulta. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday February 19, 2013 at St. Michael Catholic Church, Wausau. Rev. Timothy Welles will preside. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of services at the church. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established.
