Margaret H. Sielaff

Margaret H. Sielaff, 97, Wausau, died Monday May 9, 2016 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. She was born April 28, 1919 in Wausau, daughter of the late Orrie and Hattie (Friese) Kane. On May 1, 1947, she married Wilbert Sielaff at Trinity Lutheran Church, Wausau. He preceded her in death January 20, 1996. Prior to her retirement, Margaret had been employed at Johnson Hills Department Store. After retiring, the Sielaff's enjoyed traveling and sightseeing and visiting throughout the United States. Among her favorite things to do were reading and spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed cooking, gardening and canning. Margaret is fondly remembered for her skills as a seamstress and sewing many different types of clothing for her family and in later years, she enjoyed knitting and crocheting. Survivors include two children, Jeffrey (Victoria) Sielaff, Green Bay; Jane (Andrew) Andrashie, Irma; four grandchildren, Orrie Sielaff, Madison; Brennan Sielaff, Milwaukee; Jennifer Andrashie, Irma; Matthew (Melissa) Streicher, Morehead City, North Carolina; one step-granddaughter, Melissa Andrashie, Franklin; three step-great-grandchildren and two step great-great-grandchildren. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathleen Streicher, two brothers, Lawrence and Orrie Kane and one sister, Ruth Kelly. Funeral services will be Noon, Monday May 16, 2016 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Wausau. Rev. Gary Schultz will officiate. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Wausau. Friends may call on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Trinity Lutheran Church.
