Margaret Kwarciany, 82, Wausau, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 6, 2014, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital after a short illness.
She was born July 10, 1932 in Wausau to George and Flora (Hintze) Gleason and was raised by Ralph and Avis Hintze after the death of her parents.
Margaret married Chester Kwarciany on May 21, 1955 at St. Therese Catholic Church, Rothschild. He survives.
Early in her marriage, she worked at Employers Insurance of Wausau, then stayed at home to raise her family. Several years later, she and Chester opened C&M Upholstery, which they operated until retirement. She enjoyed sewing and remained an active seamstress until her illness. In addition, she frequently cheered on her grandchildren and close friends at their baseball and football games. She was a devout member of Church of the Resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ, Wausau. Her greatest passion in life was her family and she selflessly gave her love and time to them.
Survivors include her husband Chester Kwarciany, Wausau and her children Glen, North Liberty, Iowa; Susan, Wausau; Michael (Julie), Wausau; Richard (Vicki), Elburn, Illinois and Patrick (Janelle), Johnson Creek. She was proud of and adored her grandchildren Daniel, David, Alyssa, and Wyatt. She is further survived by her brothers, Frank (Ellen) Hintze, Plainview, Minnesota and Herbert Hintze, Tomahawk. She was preceded in death by her sister Lucy Kasmerchak, and her brothers Ralph, Roy and Edward Hintze.
The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 11, 2014 at the Church of the Resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ, Wausau. The Rev. William Grevatch will preside. Entombment will be in the Christus Mausoleum, Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call on Sunday from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau and again of Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church. There will be a parish rosary service at 5:30 p.m. Sunday evening at the Sixth Street funeral home. Online condolences may be expressed at www.petersonkraemer.com
