Margaret A. Henkel

Margaret A. Henkel 84, Medford, died Tuesday, July 29, 2008 at the home of her son, following a battle with cancer. She was born March 4, 1924 in the town of Goodrich, daughter of the late Henry and Elsie (Harmel) Bergmann. On November 15, 1941, she married Oscar Henkel at Christ Evangelical and Reformed Church. He preceded her in death on March 12, 2002. Margaret was a homemaker and enjoyed quilting, crocheting, knitting and camping. Survivors include, two sons, Russell (Ann) Henkel, Medford and Gary (Pat) Henkel, Medford; one daughter, Linda (Harvey) Pelot, Wisconsin Rapids; one son-in-law, Dale Goessl, Vesper; six grandchildren, Erick and Raymond Henkel, Conn., Gregory Henkel, Medford, Christal Henkel, Colby, Scott Pelot, Albany, N.Y. and Pam Pelot, Neenah; three great grandchildren, Gregory, Brandon and Joshua Pelot, all of Albany, N.Y.; three brothers, Norman Bergmann, Roland (Jean) Bergmann and Herbert (Priscilla) Bergmann, all of Medford; and one sister, Carol (John) Zinkowich, Athens. Besides her parents and husband, Oscar, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Laurie Goessl , brother, Robert Bergmann, two infant brothers and sister, Elizabeth Hallberg. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 4, 2008 at Christ United Church, Athens. Rev. Kenneth A. Dix will officiate. Burial will be in the Athens Village Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Athens, and again Monday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the church.
