Marcella "Marcy" Petrowski

Marcella "Marcy" T. Petrowski, 92, Wausau, died Tuesday February 25, 2014 at Evergreen Place, Mount View Care Center, Wausau. She was born August 22, 1921, in the town of Cassel, daughter of the late John and Helen (Lepak) Nowak. On November 30, 1940, she married Leo J. Petrowski at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Cassel. He preceded her in death June 6, 1982. Prior to her retirement, Marcy had been employed for 30 years at the former Marathon Rubber Plant. For over 20 years, she served her community as a volunteer in several capacities, most notably at Riverside Adult Day Care and with the former Marywood Convalescent Center. Marcy was very dedicated to her volunteer work and utilized her pleasant outgoing manner to the benefit of all those she worked with. Among her involvements, she was a member of the Lady Foresters, the Catholic Daughters of the Americas and the St. Catherine Council at Holy Name Parish. In her free time, Marcy enjoyed playing cards, everything from solitaire to sheepshead. Survivors include her son, Jerry (Ellen) Petrowski, Marathon, one son-in-law, Jerome Cyrs, Milwaukee, eight grandchildren, Adam (Ozlem) Petrowski, Pompano Beach, Fla., Amy (Chris) Kucharik, Sun Prairie, Aaron (Sharon) Petrowski, Madison, Alane Petrowski, Madison, Douglas Cyrs, Oak Creek, JoEllyn (Rob) Ingish, West Bend, Ted (Tammi) Cyrs, Oconomowoc, Jason (Kari Sue) Cyrs, Oklahoma City, Okla., 13 great grandchildren. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Janice Cyrs, a great granddaughter, Abby Cyrs, one sister, Dorothy Karlen and three brothers, Alex, Henry and Johnny Nowak. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Saturday March 1, 2014 at The Church of the Holy Name of Jesus, Wausau. Rev. Thomas Huff will preside. Entombment will be in Memorial Chapel Mausoleum, Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
