Marcella J. Kort

Marcella J. Kort 80, 106 Becker St., Rothschild, died Tuesday, February 17, 2004 at her home. She was born August 29, 1923 in Wausau, daughter of the late Martin and Mabel (Wiren) Reuter. On May 21, 1949, she married Lavern Kort in Wausau. He preceded her in death on November 18, 1979. Before her marriage, Marcella was employed at Wilson-Hurd Compnay, Wausau. Marcella was a wonderful mother, who enjoyed raising her five children. Among her favorite pastimes were spending time at the lake with her family, as well as crocheting, knitting and a variety of other crafts. Survivors include her children, Mary Kort, Rothschild, Robert (Cheryl) Kort, Rothschild, Richard (Sherry) Kort, Weston, Donald (Susan) Kort, Minocqua and Thomas (Jill) Kort, Rothschild; eight grandchildren, Marc (Liz) Foley, Melissa (Chris) Boykins, Michelle Tomson, Chad Kort, Beth Kort, David Kort, Russ Kort and Chris Kort; seven great grandchildren; two sisters, Gen Radtke, Minocqua and Katie VanderLeest, Wausau; numerous nieces and nephews. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Friday, February 20, 2004 St. Mark Catholic Church, Rothschild. Rev. Donald Meurett will preside. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Wausau.
