Mamie (Wojcik) Leitermann

Mamie (Wojcik) Leitermann, 90, 1451 Grand Avenue, Schofield, died Thursday February 26, 2002 under the care of Comfort Care and Hospice Services at Community Health Care Wausau Hospital. She was born July 21, 1911 in Bevent, daughter of the late Barney and Martha (Lewandowski) Kostka. On September 5, 1936 she married Edwin P. Wojcik in Bevent. He preceded her in death on April 25, 1962. On October 2, 1976 she married Herbert C. Leitermann in Schofield. He preceded her in death on May 31, 2001. Mamie was a member of St. Therese Catholic Church, Rothschild, their St. Therese Council, Sacred Heart Circle and was a member of the Catholic Daughters of Americas, Court St. Rose. Survivors include a son, James (Judy) Wojcik, Schofield; a step-daughter Audrey Lemmer, Wausau; seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren; one sister, Mattie Gruna, Bevent. Besides her parents and husbands she was preceded in death by a son, Robert Wojcik on September 10, 1999; four sisters and six brothers. The funeral mass will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Saturday March 2, 2002 at St. Therese Catholic Church, Rothschild. Rev. Keith Apfelbeck will preside. Burial will be in St. Ladislaus Cemetery, Bevent. Friends may call from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Friday at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau and again on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church. There will be a parish rosary service Friday evening at 7:00 p.m. at the Sixth Street funeral home.
