Mamie D. Hartkopf

Mamie D. Hartkopf 96, Wausau, died Wednesday, September 26, 2007 at Harbor House, Rib Mountain, under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services. She was born May 1, 1911 in Edgar, daughter of the late William and Ella (Dahtke) Koch. On September 25, 1937, she married Harold Robert Hartkopf in Wausau. He preceded her in death on July 7, 1990. Mamie was a secretary for the former Employer's Mutual, Wausau, until her retirement. She played an instrumental role in the establishment of the Wausau Insurance Employees Credit Union, Wausau. For 30 years, Mamie enjoyed playing bridge once a month, with three of her closest friends. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Wausau. Survivors include, two children, Mary (fiancAC. Brian Hornick) Hartkopf, Wausau and David (Mary) Hartkopf, Sun Prairie; three grandchildren, Scott Hartkopf, Waterloo, Rebecca (Steven) Schloss, College Station, Tex., and Eric Hartkopf, Madison; and one great granddaughter, Hazel Schloss. Private family services will be held. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Wausau. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau is in charge of arrangements.
