Malcolm R. Jacks, 80, died Monday, November 14, 2016 surrounded by his family singing songs and telling stories at Pride TLC, Weston. He was born October 3, 1936 in Rushville, Ohio, son of the late Esel and Verna (Colwell) Jacks. On October 13, 1956 he married Barbara DeLancey. She survives. Malcolm served his country in the United States Army from 1959 to 1964 serving in Newark, Ohio, Fort Sill, Oklahoma and Fort Knox, Kentucky. He worked in sales at La-Z-Boy Furniture Gallery retiring after 55 years. He was a self-taught guitar player learning on three strings and only playing gospel music. Malcolm was a hard worker who was always telling jokes and making up rhymes for and about his grandchildren. If he wasn't telling jokes, he was doodling, decorating any napkin or piece of paper in his sight. Above all he loved the Lord. Working for and teaching others about the God he served. He was a man of faith, a family man who enjoyed nothing more than spending time with those he loved. Survivors include his children, Luetta Shilts, Bradenton, Florida, Ruston Jacks, Schofield, Barton (Shannon)Jacks, Wisconsin Rapids and; grandchildren, Brandon (Amanda) Shilts, Newark, Ohio, Quinton (Kara) Shilts, Asheton Shilts, both of Bradenton, Florida, Nathanial Jacks, Wausau, Alicia and Trenton Jacks, Wisconsin Rapids; six great-grandchildren; sisters, Audrey Piehl, Eau Claire and Pauline (Gene) Waters, Newark, Ohio; sisters-in-law, Mary Jacks, Newark, Ohio, Imogene Jacks, Dayton, Ohio, Etta Jacks, Morgantown, West Virginia and Edna Jacks, Upper Sandusky, Ohio; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, son-in-law, four brothers and one sister. Funeral services will be 6:00 p.m. Friday, November 18, 2016 at Lighthouse Pentecostal Church, 1525 Townline Road, Wausau. Rev. Derrald Hilderbrand will officiate. Visitation will be Friday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of services all at the Lighthouse Pentecostal Church. Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Mosinee Cemetery where full military honors will be conducted by the American Legion Montgomery Plant Dudley Post No. 10, Wausau.
