Magdalene Schroeder

Magdalene "Maggie" Schroeder, 94, Wausau, went to her Heavenly Home on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at the Aspirus Hospice House, Wausau. She was born August 23, 1921 in Bevent, daughter of the late Peter and Lucia (Filtz) Kuklinski. Maggie attended local grammar schools in Bevent and was a lifelong resident of the Bevent area. She married John S. Krukowski in 1939, he preceded her in death on April 2, 1957. She then married Herbert E. Schroeder on July 5, 1958, he preceded her in death on August 27, 1971. Maggie was a custodian for the Wausau School District for many years, and was a hard worker, both at work and at home. Among her favorite pastimes, Maggie enjoyed dancing in her younger years, gardening, embroidery and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include, four children, John Sr. (Gertie) Krukowski, Wausau, Paul Sr. (Kathy) Krukowski, Wausau, Robert (Ann) Krukowski, Maribel, Wis. and Charlotte Gantner, Wausau; nine grandchildren, Raechal Gantner, Kristine (Scott) Gebhart, Robert H. (Trish) Krukowski, Jennifer (Allan) Twilligear, Mary (Ryan) Johnson, Patricia (Dan) Toivonen, John Jr. (Jody) Krukowski, Linda (Perry) Esker and Peter Krukowski; 14 great-grandchildren and eight step-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and both husbands, she was preceded in death by one grandson, Paul Krukowski Jr.; an infant great-granddaughter, Alyssa Ullman; six siblings; and her special friend, Orvis Jacobson. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, May 27, 2016 at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau. Rev. Steven Gjerde will officiate. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
