Mae Krueger, 79, 400 River Drive, Wausau, died Sunday, April 11, 2004 in Cross Plains, Wisc.
She was born May 29, 1924 in Marathon County, daughter of the late Elroy Sr. and Martha (Bauman) Roeder. On April 27, 1946 she married Max Krueger at Trinity Lutheran Church, Wausau. He preceded her in death on December 2, 1989.
Mae was a secretary for Courtesy Travel, Wausau. She operated a bar and grocery store in Hamburg along with her husband, Max and later farmed in the area for several years. She was a member of the auxiliary of Alois Dreikosen Post No. 469 of the American Legion, Marathon. She loved music and was a life member of the choir of Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, Rothschild and the Wausau Senoir Choris.
Survivors include two daughters, Susan Olson, Phoenix, Ariz., Sara Hoffman, Cross Plains; one son, Richard (Carol) Krueger, Winneconne; six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; two brothers, Elroy (June) Roeder, Rothschild, Virgil (Ellen) Roeder, Sun City, Ariz.; and one sister, Darlene Jenks, Sun City, Ariz.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m Thursday, April 15, 2004 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Wausau. Rev. Dennis Pegorsch will officiate. Entombment will be in the Chapel Mausoleum, Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call Wednesday from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau and again Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the church.
