Mae H. Ewert
81, Wausau, passed away Friday January 16, 2008 at Colonial Manor Medical and Rehabilitation Center, Wausau.
She was born May 2, 1927, daughter of the late Albert and Lily (Leffel) Ewert. She retired from James River Corporation after 45 years of service as a storeroom clerk. Mae was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Wausau. She will be remembered for her wit and sense of humor. Throughout the years, she enjoyed bowling, golfing, fishing, watching birds and winning or losing a few dollars at the casinos.
Survivors include two sisters, Lorraine Hilgeman, and Alice Knetter, both of Wausau, a special friend Delores Kopchinski, Mosinee and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Mae was preceded in death by three sisters, Lottie Aschebrook, Edna Novitzke and Myrtle Krause as well as three brothers, Harold Ewert, Earl Ewert and Ralph Ewert.
Funeral services will be 7:00 p.m. Monday January 19, 2009 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Wausau. Rev. Gary Schultz will officiate. Friends may call on Monday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of services at the church. Committal services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday January 20, 2009 at Memorial Chapel Mausoleum, Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the charity of your choice.
