Mabel Johanna Elsie Taves

Mabel J. Taves, 91, 113, Thomas Hill Road, Edgar, died Tuesday, October 29, 2002 at Colonial Center Nursing Home, Colby. Mabel was born May 3, 1911 in the town of Wein, daughter of the late William and Matilda (Gollubski) Hannemann. She married Joseph A. Taves on May 15, 1936 in Wausau. He survives. Mabel was a homemaker. She enjoyed sewing and was a wonderful seamstress. Spending time in her flower and vegetable gardens was among her favorite things to do. Besides her husband, Joseph, Edgar, she is survived by two daughters, Joyce (David) Laszewski, Lake Tomahawk, Loretta (Richard) Ormond, Marshfield; one son, Donald (Ann) Taves, Athens; 10 grandchildren, Laura, Debra, Scott, Diane, Wayne, Carol, Todd, Joseph, Michael, Michelle; 10 great grandchildren; three sisters, Evelyn Carr, Palm Coast, Florida, Rose (Lou) Martin, Brooksville, Florida, Betty Brandenburg, Woodruff. Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Friday, November 1, 2002 at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Edgar. The Rev. Linda M. Dutton will officiate. Burial will be in Edgar Cemetery. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m., Thursday and again on Friday from Noon until the time of services all at the Edgar Funeral Home.
