Lynn E. Gelhar

October 27, 1957 — February 25, 2016

Lynn Gelhar, age 58, of Weston, passed away on Thursday, February 25, 2016 after a short battle with lung cancer. She leaves behind her husband Thomas Gelhar, daughters Jessica Gelhar and Stephanie (Justin) Bradfish, and 1-year old grandson Jackson Thomas Bradfish. Lynn was born on October 27, 1957 in Wausau to Robert and Jean (Laack) Ebert, who predeceased her. She grew up with one younger sister, Joan Flannery, who she also sadly said goodbye to in 2013. Lynn graduated from Wausau East High School and had an early career at Wausau Insurance. She met Tom at Lynn Ann's Campground, where her family enjoyed vacationing, and the two married on November 22, 1980. After starting a family, Lynn focused her time on raising their two girls. The family mostly enjoyed spending time outdoors, from camping as a young foursome, to spending long weekends at the cabin, and day drinking at the terrace in Madison during their annual girls' weekend. In her last year, Lynn reveled in her role as first-time grandma. She loved taking Jackson out to lunch and on new adventures: to the Splash Pad, story time at the library, and Art Babies at the museum. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 27, 2016 at Zion Lutheran Church, Wausau. Rev. Steven Gjerde will officiate. Visitation will be held on Friday from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau and again on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. Online condolences may be expressed at www.petersonkraemer.com
