Lyle A. "Windy" Kurtzweil Sr.
69, 1668 Alpine Road, Marathon, died Monday, November 6, 2006 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
He was born January 28, 1937, in the town of Emmet, son of the late Elroy and Amanda (Hornung) Kurtzweil. On Febuary 7, 1970 he married Elaine Wendt at St. Mary Catholic Church, Marathon. She survives.
Lyle was a farmer and a member of the Holstein Association for over forty years. An avid Chicago Bears and Cubs fan, he also enjoyed collecting Blatz beer memorabilia
Survivors besides his wife include his children, Nancy (Chris) Koval, Belleville, and Lyle (Amy) Kurtzweil, Marathon; two grandchildren, Bryce and Blaine; five sisters, Lillian (Fred) Lang, Marathon, Angie (Clare) Martens, Wausau, Vernie (Lyle) Krautkramer, Marathon, Donna Mae (John) Austin, Wisconsin Rapids and Elaine (Richard) Kienbaum, Waupaca; brother-in-law Richard Jansen, West Bend and many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by one sister Mary Jansen.
The funeral mass will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 11, 2006 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Marathon. Rev. Joseph Diermeier will preside. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call on Friday from 4-8 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Marathon and again on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
