Lyla R. Woods

Lyla R. Woods 90, Wausau, died Saturday March 3, 2007 at Colonial Manor Medical and Rehabilitation Center, Wausau. She was born October 10, 1916, in Curtiss, daughter of the late Clarence and Myrtle (Herrick) Ravey. On June 10, 1941, she married Stanley E. Woods at the United Methodist Church, Unity. He preceded her in death May 1, 1997. Prior to her retirement, Lyla had been employed as a teacher in the Kindergarten and Junior High levels. She was a member of the Metro Club and the Circle at the First United Methodist Church, Wausau. Survivors include nieces and nephews, among them her god daughter, Ann (Ken) Skidmore, Sun City, Arizona. Besides her parents and husband, Lyla was preceded in death by three sisters, Lloyd Cook, Merle Regall and Ethelyn Mellenthin. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday March 8, 2007 at the First United Methodist Church, Wausau. Rev. Karen Ebert will officiate. Entombment will be in Memorial Chapel Mausoleum, Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
