Lydia "Tootie" Beilke-Szymanski
79, Wausau, died Friday August 12, 2011 at Marywood Convalescent Center, Wausau.
She was born August 24, 1931, in the town of Wein, daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Dvorak) Bantes. In September 1953, she married Kenneth Beilke. He preceded her in death in August 1991. She married Edwin Szymanski in February 1994, he survives.
Tootie worked at Hoffer Glass for several years as receptionist and for 25 years had been employed at the Labor Temple as a cook prior to her retirement. In the past, her favorite things to do were cooking and decorating cakes for weddings, anniversaries and parties.
Survivors include her husband, Edwin Szymanski, Wausau, four sons, Craig (Lynn) Beilke, Schofield, Gary Beilke, Wausau, Brad (Connie) Beilke, Aniwa, Dean (Valerie) Beilke, Tomahawk, five grandchildren, Paul & Daniel; Ramsey & Jurnee and Jake, one great granddaughter, Lydia, her siblings, Wilbert (Roseanne) Bantes, Wausau and Florence Berens, Edgar.
Besides her parents and husband, Kenneth, she was preceded in death by a son, Todd.
The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday August 16, 2011 at the Church of St. Anne, Wausau. Rev. Steven Brice will preside. Entombment will be in the Christus Mausoleum, Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the UW Cancer Center.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt appreciation to the UW Cancer Center staff and Dr. Rezazadeh for the special care given to Tootie.
