Lydia A. Krueger
95, Wausau formerly of Rib Falls, died Saturday, January 21, 2012 under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services at Wausau Manor.
She was born October 30, 1916 in the town of Rib Falls, daughter of the late Joseph and Ida (Nagel) Hoffman. On June 12, 1937 she married Marvin Krueger at St. John Ev. Lutheran Church, town of Rib Falls. He preceded her in death on August 5, 2007. Lydia and Marvin celebrated 70 years of marriage when he passed away on August 5, 2007.
Lydia loved to cook, bake and preserve food from their garden. For many years she took the job of mowing grass in the church cemetery. Her true passion was her flower gardens, which she loved and cared for all the way through her golden years.
Some of her favorite pastimes included reading, playing cards and doing word search books but Lydia was very grateful for her dear friend Doris Seehafer whom she enjoyed spending time with as often as she could. Most of all her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren all meant the world to her. She wanted to see her family almost daily.
Survivors include her seven children Arlene (Wayne) Hoffman, Athens, Lorraine (John) Hoefs, Marshfield, Marilyn (Sylvester) Lipinski, Athens, Leila (Roger) Graveen, Edgar, Gary Krueger, Rib Mountain, Donna (David) Weisenberger, Marathon and Ronald Krueger, Rib Falls, 18 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren and 3 step great grandchildren.
Besides her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one son Russell Krueger, one granddaughter Judy Hoffman, five sisters and three brothers.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday January 25, 2012 at St. John Ev. Lutheran Church, town of Rib Falls. The Rev. Terry Reich will officiate. Burial will be in St. John Lutheran Cemetery, town of Rib Falls. Friends may call on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services all at the church.
