Luellen N. Uttech

LuEllen N. Uttech, 100, Wausau, died Thursday, October 20, 2016 under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services at Our House Assisted Living. She was born September 13, 1916 in Merrill, daughter of the late Hubert and Martha (Schuster) Krause. On February 13, 1935 she married Bernhard Uttech. He preceded her in death on April 1, 1986. LuEllen worked many years at the former Marathon Battery. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening and writing every day in her journal as well as reading her daily scripture. In her younger years, her husband Bernhard was a member of the Harmony Aces Polka Band and she enjoyed attending all their performances. Above all she loved spending time with her family attending baseball games, helping on the farm or preparing their favorite sweet treats. Survivors include her nieces and nephews, Greta Rusch, Charles (Janet) Henrichs, John (Marlene) Sabatke, Arlene (Allen) Pfalz, Claudette (Dan) Johnson, Suzette Wiederhoeft, Dawn (Bill) Kollath, Dale (Sarah) Sabatke and Mark (Becky) Sabatke; many other great nieces and nephews and great great-nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, Bernhard, she was preceded in death by sisters, Dolores Henrichs, Janet Dietel and Dorothy Sabatke; nieces and nephews, Roger Sabatke, Pamela Spoehr, and David Sabatke. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 24, 2016 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Wausau. Rev. Zach Holdorf will officiate. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Visitation will be Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services all at the church. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Wausau, is in charge of arrangements.
