Lucy Novitzke
94, 112 Fourth Avenue, Edgar died Saturday January 11, 2003 under the care of Comfort Care and Hospice Services at Community Health Care Wausau Hospital.
She was born June 21, 1908 in Durand, daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (Gilfoyle) Boehm. On June 12, 1928 she married Joseph Novitzke in Edgar. He preceded her in death April 20, 1979.
Lucy was a homemaker and enjoyed knitting crocheting and sewing. She was a member of St. John Catholic Church, Edgar and their Parish Council of Catholic Women.
Survivors include four sons, Joseph (Darlene) Novitzke, Minoqua, Melvin Novitzke, Edgar, James (Doris) Novitzke, Milwaukee, Marlin (Mary) Novitzke, Edgar, 16 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Joyce Knetter, two brothers, John Boehm and Raymond Boehm, two sisters, Margaret Boehm and Elizabeth Franz.
The funeral mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Monday January 20, 2003 at St. John Catholic Church, Edgar. Rev. Bernard Raschke will preside. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday from 2 until 5 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Edgar and again on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the church. There will be a parish vigil service at 4 p.m. Sunday at the Edgar funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Comfort Care and Hospice Services or to the Cancer Society.
