Lucy Lahr, 74, passed away on August 3 under hospice care at Aspirus hospital in Wausau, WI surrounded by her loving family.
If you ask those who were closest to Lucy they would describe her as a confidant, advisor and trusted friend. She was the first call for friends and family who needed help or guidance during their most troubling times. She showed no judgement, but did not shy away from the truth. There was never a doubt she was always more concerned for the people around her; even as she battled her own illness throughout the years. Lucy shared these virtues with others as a member of Saint Andrew's Lutheran Church providing comfort, advice and a caring ear to those on the prayer list and their families.
Family always came first for Lucy, whether it be the countless hours spent attending her grandsons' events, the many miles traveled to ensure she never missed a family milestone, or her "Sunday Sisters" gatherings. Lucy had her finger on the pulse of the family and had a seemingly endless knowledge of the family's history.
While tough to see her go, the positive impact she left on all those she touched will last for generations to come. Please honor her memory by taking time to reach out to others in their times of need; be honest, be patient, be compassionate to make sure that Lucy may be gone but not forgotten.
She is survived by her daughter, Lisa (Mark) Messerschmidt; grandsons, Tyler, Cody and Connor (fiancAC. Megan); best friend of over 60 years, Kathleen Hollman; brothers, Ronald (Dawn) Felch, David (Carol) Felch and Clarence (Maxine) Felch; sisters, Marie (Dale) Valent, Blanche (LeRoy) Franks, Elaine (Don) Gorski, Jean Kuss and Sue (Ronald) Krueger.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, James, Roger, Edward and Carl Felch and sisters, Beverly Hunter and Nancy Ringwelski.
