Lucille B. Rauen
75, Weston, died Thursday February 23, 2012 at St. Clare's Hospital, Weston, surrounded by her family.
She was born January 31, 1937, in Poniatowski, daughter of the late Vincent and Catherine (Feltzkowski) Writz. On August 17, 1957, she married Norbert Rauen at Holy Family Catholic Church, Poniatowski. He survives.
Lucille was a homemaker and through the years had helped out with the hot lunch program in the Everest School System and also worked the polls at election time.
Among her favorite things to do were bowling, traveling, working their hobby farm, listening to Polka music and dancing, as well as an occasional trip to the casino. Lucille enjoyed the outdoors and loved gardening, camping, fishing and hunting. She was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church where she was involved in various church activities including Lay Ministry to the homebound and was a member of the Parish Council of Catholic Women.
Survivors include her husband, Norbert Rauen, Weston, four children, Deborah (Robert) Geiger, Wausau, Diane (Kevin) Lillie, Sioux Lookout, Ontario, Canada, Denise (Larry) Brown, Baraboo, Scott (Shelly) Rauen, Chippewa Falls, nine grandchildren, Kristina (Alex) Lemanski, Eric Geiger, Ben (Katie) Lillie, Danielle Lillie, Austin Brown, Tyler Brown, Nathan Rauen, Ryan Hillman, Nicki Hillman; one great grandson, Gabe Lillie, two sisters, Agnes Heil, Marathon, Julia (Earl) Braun, Rhinelander and her mother-in-law, Mabel Rauen, Wausau.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Alois Writz, Delores Cihlar, Irene Stieber, Edmund Writz and her father-in-law, George Rauen.
The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday February 28, 2012 at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 6101 Zinser St., Weston. Rev. Alan Burkhardt will preside. Entombment will be in Memorial Chapel Mausoleum, Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call on Monday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services all at St. Agnes Catholic Church, Weston. There will be a parish rosary service at 7:00 p.m. Monday evening at the church.
