Lucille Betty Jane Oelke

Lucille B. Oelke 84, Wausau, died Tuesday, October 24, 2006 at Wausau Manor Nursing Home, Wausau. She was born May 22, 1922 in the town of Stettin, daughter of the late Frank and Senta (Rohde) Schewe. On May 19, 1951 she married Lenhard Oelke in the town of Hamburg. He preceded her in death, November 8, 2004. Lucille was a homemaker and loved to play cards. She enjoyed volunteer work and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary. As a devoted aunt and friend, Lucille was always ready with a helping hand to anyone in need. Survivors include a sister-in-law, Naomi Schewe, great nephew Timothy Schneck, many other beloved nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Besides her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one brother, Orville Schewe and one sister, Irma Sturm. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 30, 2006 at St. Mark Lutheran Church, Wausau. Rev. Bruce Lamont will officiate. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at church. The family wishes to extend their sincere appreciation to the staff at Wausau Manor for the care given to Lucille during her time with them.
