Lucille Mary Johnson

Lucille Mary Johnson 97, formerly of Beloit, died Thursday, March 20, 2003 at Homme Home for the Aging, Wittenberg. She was born January 22, 1906 in Escanaba, Michigan, daughter of the late Henry and Elyse (Cyr) DeMontigny. She married E. Harold Johnson on October 26, 1934, in Beloit. He preceded her in death. Lucille was an office manager and one of the first employees for the Regal Beloit Corporation. She was a member of the St. Jude Catholic Church Guild, Grinnell Bridge Club and volunteered much of her time at Beloit Memorial Hospital. Survivors include one son, Robert H. Johnson of Phoenix, Arizona; two granddaughters; Mary Kay (Brian) Grosskopf and Elise (Rick Heisz) Gerke, Janesville, WI; two great-grandchildren; Paul and Emily Grosskopf and one sister, Betty Strong, Riverside, California. Besides her husband; E. Harold Johnson and her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter; Elizabeth "Betsy Sue" Gerke; two sisters, Mearl Bedner, Priscilla McIntyre; four brothers, Leonard, Ivy, Roland and Robert DeMontigny. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 22 at St. Jude Catholic Church, Beloit. The Rev. Steven Kortendick will preside. Burial will be in Eastlawn Cemetery, Beloit. Friends may call on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services all at the church. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau, is in charge of arrangements.
