Luann V. Ruhbusch

In his gracious mercy the Lord sent His holy angel to take the soul of LuAnn V. Ruhbusch to our heavenly home on September 7, 2024.

LuAnn, the seventh child of Walter A. Krohn and his wife Mathilda R. E. (Voigt) Krohn was born on June 8, 1933 in the Town of Hamburg.

She attended Rib View school. During her late teens she served as a nanny for the family of the late Rev. and Mrs. Lyle Koenig.  Later she was employed at Marathon Electric until her marriage to William H. Ruhbusch at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Wausau, on December 20, 1959.

The ensuing years were somewhat nomadic, moving with her husband to Springfield, IL, then to Regina, Saskatchewan, back to Springfield as he finished his education, up to Wolseley, Saskatchewan and then to Spencer, WI.  After retirement they finally resided in Weston, WI.

While at Trinity Lutheran Church in Spencer, she was a member of the Ladies Aid, The Ladies Guild, and the Senior Choir for over 31 years.  While at Spencer she further served for 17 years as the caretaker at the church.

Survivors include her husband of 64 years:  The Rev. William H. Ruhbusch; her five children; Jon (Kelly) Ruhbusch and their children Kathryn and Garrett; Lori DeVries and her children Caleb (Emily), Danielle and Sarah (Jason) Lolley; David (Debra) Ruhbusch and their children Matthew, Jessica (Danny) Schubert and Melissa; Lisa (Jeff) Snortheim and their son David; Michael Ruhbusch and his son Isaiah; one great granddaughter: Aaliyah DeVries; three sisters and one brother:  Lois (Mike) Fasse, Geneva Weith, Lorraine Melanson, Donald (Lyn) Krohn; two sisters-in-law:  Marion Ruhbusch and Rose Marie Koehler; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

LuAnn was preceded in death by her parents, siblings and their spouses. Layton & Merlene Krohn, Earl & Marie Krohn, Ethel & William Buttke, Ardell & Gilbert Koenig, Junice & Walter Braatz, Mavis & Walter Schoenherr, Wallace Weith, William Melanson, Phyllis Krohn, Everett “Shorty” Schmidt Sr., and Victor Ruhbusch.

The Christian Burial service will be held at 12 Noon Saturday, September 14, 2024 at Faith Lutheran Church, Merrill, with the Rev. Donald Love officiating.  Burial will take place at Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Gresham, following services.  The family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the services at 12 noon.
