Luann Margaret (Rader) Mohr

LuAnn Margaret (Rader) Mohr, 83, Marathon, passed away at 8:07am, Sunday, November 17, 2024 at her home surrounded by her family.

LuAnn was born in Marathon on February 7, 1941 to Herbert Richard Rader and Hildegard Julie (Lang) Rader. She married Alfred William Mohr on September 9, 1961 in Marathon. He survives.

She attended Marathon High School and was a life-long member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Marathon. LuAnn was a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters and the Parish Council of Catholic Women.

She enjoyed bowling, ceramics, growing orchids, gardening, canning, crafts, word find puzzles and looking through cookbooks.   LuAnn and Alfred liked to play cards with friends and relatives. Most of all, she loved cooking and baking for her family.

LuAnn was preceded in death by her parents and several sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews.

She is survived by Alfred, her husband of 63 years; three sons, Patrick (Kristi Busse) Mohr, Michael (Laurie Edwards) Mohr and Steven Mohr; one daughter, Barbara (Michael) Borchardt; seven grandchildren, Karissa (Matthew) Wiegert, Katie (Benjamin) Gerhards, Jacob Mohr (Delaney Skelding), Rebecca Mohr, Grace Mohr, Madison Borchardt, and Abigail Borchardt; three great-grandchildren, Elijah, Ezra and Elizabeth; three sisters, Joyce (Martin) Zernicke, Barbara Booth and Beverly (Larry) Hoffman; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12:00 p.m. (Noon) on Monday, November 25, 2024 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Marathon.  Rev. Msgr. Jospeh Diermeier will preside.  Burial will be in the parish cemetery.  Visitation will be on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the church.

A special thank you to the many kind medical providers who have cared for LuAnn in the past several years, especially those at Aspirus Wausau Hospital and St. Croix Hospice.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in LuAnn’s memory.
