Louis L. Hack, 61, 3647 Four Mile Road, Marathon, died Monday, October 25, 2004 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
He was born January 27, 1943 in Wausau, to William and Frances (Lang) Hack. On May 21, 1966, he married Marilyn Kaiser at St. John's Catholic Church, Edgar.
Louie worked as a machine operator at Marathon Cheese Corporation for 43 years and as a farmer in the town of Cassel. He was a member of the Army National Guard for 6 years and a 50-year member of the Catholic Order of Foresters. Later Louie developed a passion for gardening and spent countless hours tending his vegetables, pumpkins, and glads. On Saturdays he could be found at the Farmers Market in Wausau. He enjoyed his friends and family and was generous in ways few knew of. Louie also enjoyed sheepshead, fishing, slot machines, and estate sales.
Survivors include his wife, Marilyn, daughter, Karen (Dan) Swenson, son, Michael (Jenny) Hack, granddaughters, Jessica and Melinda, sisters, Eleanor (Bill) Ryan, Portland, OR and Molly (Don) Maguire, Mosinee.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Al, and his parents.
The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:30 am, Thursday, October 28, at St. Mary's Church, Marathon with burial at the parish cemetery. Rev. Joseph Diermeier will preside.
Friends may call from 4:00-8:00 pm Wednesday at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Marathon and again Thursday from 10:00 am until the time of services at the church.
There will be a prayer service at 7:45 pm at the Marathon funeral home.
