Lorraine E. Lenard

January 8, 1920 — July 3, 2004

Lorraine E. Lenard 84, formerly of 308 E. Campus Drive, Wausau, died Saturday July 3, 2004 at Community Health Care Wausau Hospital. She was born January 8, 1920 in Manawa, daughter of the late Frank and Gladys (Guerin) Kosmerchock. In September 1939 she married Benedict Lenard in Manawa. He preceded her in death. In 1963, the Lenard's began operation of "Bennie's Bar" in Wausau. Lorraine continued to operate the business after Ben's death in 1965 until the time of her retirement. She enjoyed ceramics, watching Packer football, gardening, Bingo and visiting with friends and relatives. Special to her was the time spent with her grandchildren, especially the baking projects during the holidays. Survivors include four children, Gladys (Richard) Verbsky, Wausau, Shirley Lenard, San Diego, Cal., Benedict "Ben" (Zoe Wilson) Lenard, Milwaukee, Rick (Melanie) Lenard, Wausau, two grandchildren, Janice Klade and Len Bloom; four great grandchildren, Michael, Robert, Erick and Kailyn Klade; two great great grandchildren, Wesley and Joseph; four step grandchildren; eight step great grandchildren; a brother, LaVern "Bud" (Geri) Kosmerchock, Wausau; two sisters, June (Oscar) Hoffman and Joyce Kosmerchock, all of Manawa; one sister-in-law, Alice Kosmerchock, Neenah. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Mayford and Victor and a sister, Ruth. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Weds. July 7, 2004 at St. Michael Catholic Church, Wausau. Rev. William Grevatch will preside. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call on Weds. from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau, is in charge of arrangements.
