Loretta M. Scholl, age 94, Weston, joined the rest of her family to be with the Lord on June 7, 2015, following a brief hospitalization at Ministry St. Clare's.
Loretta was born November 28, 1920, and was the youngest daughter of Frank and Johanna Scholl, Brokaw, where she resided most of her life. Loretta was best known to all that were dear to her as "Honey". She was employed at the Wausau Paper Mills, Brokaw, for many years as a Corporate Records Supervisor, retiring to care for her ailing parents.
She was the most content when doing things for others, attending family events and welcoming visitors into her home, insisting that they have a meal or snack as well as goodies for the road. Loretta had a great sense of humor and was quick with a smart answer. Despite numerous health issues and obstacles, she handled herself with grace and dignity, never complaining, always dressing up for the occasion and making light of the situation. She had a genuine zest for life and found much enjoyment in extensive decorating for every holiday. She seized every opportunity to shop, always seeking volunteers to accompany her.
Loretta never married and found her first commitment was to Jesus our Lord. She was a member of the Church of the Resurrection, Wausau, her entire life. She believed in living simply, being kind and always asking the Lord for his mercy and forgiveness.
Survivors include her nieces and nephew, Linda Flynn, Augusta, who was devoted to her, Lonne (Jan) Nolan, League City, Tex., Mary Beth (Jim) Maas, Rothschild, Kathy (Jim) Giese and Cindy (Gary) Wojciechowski, both of Wausau, and Debbie Buschou, Minneapolis, as well as many great and great-great nieces and nephews.
She treasured time spent with Marcy (Connie) Wipfli, and the "Scholl Boys", Brent, Dean, Scott, Steven and their families. Special friends, Jane Wery, Dawn Lenser and Shirley Bremer who came to visit regularly were a blessing to her.
Preceding her in death were her parents, sisters Caroline Wipfli, Elizabeth Nolan, Celeste (Sally) Buschou and a brother, Alfred Scholl, as well as nephews Connie Wipfli, Barry Scholl and nephew-in-law, Shawn Flynn.
The funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, June 13 at 10:30 a.m. at the Church of the Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. Rev. William Grevatch will preside. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park. Friends may call on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 6th Street, is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be expressed at www.petersonkraemer.com.
