Loretta E. Janas

Loretta E. Janas 94, Wausau, died Friday February 24, 2012 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. She was born August 25, 1917, in Chicago, daughter of the late Nicholas and Catharine (Frey) Hengels. She married Walter J. Janas. He preceded her in death in 1972. Loretta was the definition of a homemaker and took great satisfaction in taking care of others. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her grandchildren. Survivors include one son, Robert W. (Connie) Janas, Wausau, four grandchildren, Dakota, Cheyenne, Susan and Sierra, as well as one brother, Nick Hengels, Rockford, Ill. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by six brothers and sisters. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Weds. February 29, 2012 at The Church of St. Anne, Wausau. Rev. Steven Brice will preside. Burial will be in Montrose Cemetery, Chicago, Ill. Friends may call on Tuesday from 4 - 8 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau and again on Weds. From 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
