Loretta M. Heil, 90, formerly of Marathon, died Saturday November 1, 2014 at Wausau Manor, under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.
She was born February 8, 1924, in the town of Marathon, daughter of the late Herbert and Agatha (Blume) Ruplinger. On September 9, 1946, she married Clifford J. Heil Sr., at St. Mary Catholic Church, Marathon. He preceded her in death March 14, 2011.
Loretta was a homemaker providing a loving upbringing for her 14 children and the grandchildren to follow. In her free time, she enjoyed flower gardening, playing cards, bingo and an occasional trip to the casino. She was a longtime volunteer at St. Anthony Retreat Center in Marathon.
Survivors include twelve children, Clifford (Betty) Heil Jr., Wausau, Joyce (Carl) Koch, Minocqua, Daniel (Pat) Heil, Marathon, Jean (Bill) Wolfe, Rothschild, Robert (Judy) Heil, Stoughton, Larry (Sally) Heil, Wausau, Sue (Jim) Ward, Lodi, Gerald (Lori) Heil, Edgar, Ken (Kathy) Heil, Sauk City, Mark Heil, Shell Lake, Christine (Jim) Hajdu, Merrill, Donald Heil, Shawano; daughter-in-law, Diane Heil, Cedar Park, Texas; 30 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren and one sister, Genevieve Wieloch, Merrill.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Michael and James; two brothers, Leander and Melvin Ruplinger and one sister, Esther Szemborski.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday November 5, 2014 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Marathon. Rev. Msgr. Joseph Diermeier will preside. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of services at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Anthony Retreat Center, Marathon.
