Loren "Brownie" Lee Fraser, 85, Rothschild, died Thursday, August 13, 2015 at his home, under the care of Ministry Home Care Hospice.
He was born July 9, 1930 in Mosinee, son of the late Archie and Elsie Fraser. He was a 1948 graduate of Mosinee High School. In October of 1948, Loren started working for American Can and retired in October of 1994 after 46 years of employment. While working there he met his future love, Barbara Dobeck, and they were married on April 11, 1953 at St. Therese Catholic Church, Rothschild and together had three sons. She preceded him in death on May 5, 2010.
For many years, Loren was a member of the National Guard. Among his favorite pastimes, he enjoyed bowling and playing dartball, softball and baseball. He was also an avid Green Bay Packer fan, Wisconsin Badger fan and Milwaukee Brewer fan.
Survivors include, two sons, Kevin "Fuzz" (Barbara) Fraser and Kelly (Jean) Fraser, both of Rothschild; one daughter-in-law, Sherry Fraser, Watertown; six grandchildren, Tara Brown, Zackary, Savannah, David, Michael and Abigail Fraser; two great-grandchildren, Janessa and Lamaiah; one step-granddaughter, Missy (Jon Gilbert) Schisel; one step-great-grandson, Ethan Schisel; one brother, Duane (Merie) Fraser, Florida; and two brothers-in-law, Dennis "Butch" (Kathy) Dobeck, Rothschild and Gerald Rogalla, Milwaukee.
Besides his parents and wife, Barbara, he was preceded in death by one son, Todd Fraser; and one brother, Arlan Fraser.
The Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at St. Mark Catholic Church, Rothschild. Rev. Allan L. Slowiak will preside. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau with full military honors conducted by the American Legion Montgomery Plant Post No. 10, Wausau. Friends may call on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at the church.
