Lois Samolinski
Lois Samolinski won't be late to her own funeral, death knocked on the door of her home on January 25, 2009. Surrounded by loving friends and family members, she was aided in her final days by the wonderful care-givers from Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.
One could not have found two prouder parents in Antigo, Wis. on October 4, 1929 when Lawrence and Olive (Tibbetts) Guenthner welcomed into this world the apple of their eyes, Lois Mae. She enjoyed a rich life on their family farm and attended a one room school; and later was graduated from Antigo High School in 1947. On September 4, 1948 she married the apple of her eye, Donald, the son of Peter and Magdalene (Noskowiak) Samolinski. They enjoyed 51 years together, with Don preceding her in death in 1999. They had four children; Peter (Barb) of Wausau, Jon of Eau Claire, Tom (Peter Knippel) of Chicago and Peg (Tim Malenosky) of Portland, Oregon. She dearly enjoyed her grandchildren; Joe and Mike Samolinski (their mother: Martha Woodworth) and Sam Malenosky, as well as her two step-grandchildren; Andy Seeman Jr. and Jessica (Dave) Lind, and two great-grandchildren; Jack and Elizabeth Lind.
You are invited to attend a celebration of Lois's life at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 28, 2009 at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Wausau. Rev. Dee E. Webber will officiate. Friends may call Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until time of services at the church.
Entombment will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Many of us heard Lois say "If you don't send me flowers when I'm alive, don't bother when I'm dead!" So in lieu of that, any memorials can be sent to the Lions Camp for the Blind, 3834 County Road A, Rosholt, WI 54473, (715) 677-4969, www.wisconsinlionscamp.com
