Lois (Lodholz) Niewolny, 84, of Wausau, passed away on Thursday, February 29, 2024.
She was born May 24, 1939 in Wausau to the late Herbert and Mayme (Ferries) Lodholz. On September 26, 1959 she married Lester Niewolny at St. James Catholic Church, Wausau.
Throughout her life, Lois enjoyed bowling, traveling, reading, and watching her favorite Packers and Brewers. But her greatest joy in life was spending time with her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Lester; and three children, Dawn (Curt) Galloway of Eagan MN, Dean (Lisa) Niewolny of Dallas TX, and Amy (Randy) O’Brien of Mosinee WI. Lois has seven grandchildren, Alyssa (Brandon) Peterson, Matthew Galloway, Rachel (Justin) Smith, Kennedy and Caden Niewolny, and Lucas and Cole O’Brien; two great-grandchildren, Olivia and Adelyn Peterson; and sister, Joan Jehn.
She was preceded in death by her siblings, Lucille Budleski, Evelyn Smith, Ruth Seymour, Shirley Felch, Joyce Steinke, Orville Lodholz, and Delores Lodholz.
A funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 7, 2024 at St. Anne Catholic Church, 700 West Bridge Street, Wausau, celebrated by Rev. Tom Lindner. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Burial will follow in Restlawn Memorial Park. Online condolences may be expressed at www.petersonkraemer.com.
