Lois C. Mickelson
67, Wausau, died Friday, October 26, 2012 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
She was born December 11, 1944 in Sturgeon Bay, daughter of the late Clarence and Grace (Jenquin) LeRoy. On December 28, 1965, she married Theodore "Ted" Mickelson in Sturgeon Bay. He preceded her in death on September 9, 1996.
For over 30 years, Lois worked as a registered nurse at Aspirus Wausau Hospital, until her retirement in 2011. Among her favorite pastimes, she enjoyed reading, knitting and spending time with her children, grandchildren, family and friends. Lois was an avid Green Bay Packers fan and Milwaukee Brewers fan. She liked to travel, especially her trips to Costa Rica and Alaska, and enjoyed cooking, holiday gatherings and time with her family.
Survivors include, three sons, Nate (Jill) Mickelson of Tomahawk and their children, Taylor, Cassidy and Grace, Josh (Courtney) Mickelson of Hoffman Estates, Ill. and their children, Ty, T.J. and Olivia, and Luke (Carrie) Mickelson of Lake Mills and their children, Alex and Emily; two sisters, Ann (Robert) Stoneman of Sturgeon Bay and Kim Reinemann of Mequon; one brother-in-law, Joseph Regan, Minnesota; and nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and husband, Ted, she was preceded in death by her step-father, Joseph Knaapen; one sister, Mary Regan; and her brother-in-law, Roger Reinemann.
The funeral mass will be celebrated at Noon on Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at St. Michael Catholic Church, Wausau. Rev. William Grevatch will preside. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Wausau. Friends may call on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the church.
