Lois Becker

December 24, 1928 — March 13, 2005

Lois Becker 76, Rib Mountain, died Sunday, March 13, 2005 at her home. She was born on Christmas Eve 1928 in Wausau, daughter of the late Leo and Grace (Hoffmann) Erdmann. After graduation from Marathon High School in 1946, she was employed at Wausau Insurance Company. On September 30, 1950, she married Allen Baneck. In the early 1960's, they started the Hamburg Happy Hearts 4-H Club. Her favorite hobbies included dancing and flower gardening. Besides polka dancing, she also enjoyed line dancing and square dancing. For over six years, she had a square dance apparel shop in her home. Her Christian faith was expressed in writing a song, "Jesus is My Friend". She also wrote inspirational poems in her book, "Tidbits of Faith, Hope & Love". She went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on March 13, 2005. Survivors include: two daughters and sons-in-law, Judy (Tom) Mueller, Sun Prairie and Sandy (Wayne) Tepe, Rib Mountain; six grandchildren, Jenny & Jim Mueller, Jeremy (Megan), Jason, Matt & Molly Tepe; one great grandson, Eddie Tepe; one sister-in-law, Pat Erdmann. Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Lloyd Erdmann. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 19, 2005 at Pilgrim Lutheran Church, 709 Weston Ave., Wausau. Rev. Paulette Creswell will officiate. Following the luncheon, burial will be in the St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Town of Hamburg. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. Saturday until the time of services at the church.
