Lloyd W. Sala
73, Wausau, died Monday, June 19, 2006 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
He was born September 17, 1932 in Wausau, son of the late Myron and Arlene (Melang) Sala. On February 11, 1956, he married Patricia Bretl at Church of the Holy Name of Jesus, Wausau. She preceded him in death on January 6, 2004.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Lloyd was a member of the Wausau American Legion Montgomery Plant Post #10 and the Wausau Emergency Police.
Among his many interests, he enjoyed gardening, woodworking, camping, Friday night fish fries and spending time with his family.
Survivors include four children, Mary Sala, Wausau, James (Paulene) Sala, Athens, Ken (Denise) Sala, Wausau and Mark (LaTonya) Sala, Edgar; seven grandchildren, Travis and Jamie Hummel, Cale, Tracy, Ashley and Adam Sala and Whitney Lukasko; one sister, Carol (Jerry) Mattison, Brookfield; one sister-in-law, Rosemarie Sala, Milwaukee; special friend, Debbie Hackbarth, Wausau; and many other relatives further survive.
Besides his parents and wife, Patricia; he was preceded in death by his twin sister, Lorraine Christensen; and one brother, Fred Sala.
Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m. Thursday, June 22, 2006 at Grace United Church of Christ, Wausau. Rev. Wayne Drueck will officiate. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau with full military honors conducted by the American Legion Montgomery Plant Post #10, Wausau. Friends may call Wednesday from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 3400 Stewart Avenue, Wausau and again Thursday from 10:30 a.m. until time of services at the church.
