Lloyd D. Roloff
68, Schofield, ended his earthly journey on Thursday, September 10, 2009 under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services at Mount View Care Center, Wausau.
He was born March 20, 1941 in Wausau, son of the late Wilbert and Gladys (Blossom) Roloff. On October 14, 1961, he married Rosalynn Block at St. John Lutheran Church, town of Easton. She survives.
Lloyd was a 1959 graduate of Wausau East High School. After graduation, he worked with his dad at their family owned retail foods store, the former Inter-City Market, Schofield. In the 1970's, Lloyd and his brother established a small residential building company called Roloff Builders, Inc. For the past 20 years, he worked for Wausau Window and Wall Systems, until his retirement.
Lloyd served on the Schofield City Council for 24 years. Among his many interests, he enjoyed working outside, spending time at the cabin up North and traveling and spending time with the "pta group".
Survivors include, his wife, Rosy Roloff, Schofield; one son, Craig (Sharon) Roloff, Tallahassee, Fla.; one daughter, Jill (Jeff) Reiche, Marathon; three grandchildren, Dana Roloff and Will and Rebecca Reiche; three brothers, Lawrence Roloff, Wausau, John (Nancy) Roloff and Richard (Carol) Roloff, both of Weston; his mother-in-law, Hazel Block, Wausau; one brother-in-law, Karl (Kay) Block, Wausau; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, James Roloff.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 15, 2009 at St. Stephen Lutheran Church, Wausau. Rev. Gary Froseth will officiate. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call Monday from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau and again Tuesday from 10:00 until time of services at the church.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Mount View Care Center 1-North and Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services for the wonderful care and support given to Lloyd and his family over the past several months.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established.
