Lloyd R. Pilgrim 88, Edgar, died Sunday, August 23, 2009 at Colonial Center, Colby. He was born May 10, 1921 in Edgar, son of the late Herman and Elsie (Rietzow) Pilgrim. On June 7, 1958 he married Helen Oldenburg at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Gleason. She preceded him in death on November 20, 1994. Lloyd was a farmer who enjoyed raising hogs and sold eggs at local grocery stores. Some of his interests included woodworking and stamp collecting. He was also a Sunday school superintendant and teacher at St. John Lutheran Church, High Steeple and was active with the Wien Wildcats 4-H Club for many years. Survivors include his daughter, Nancy (Don) Powell, Lino Lakes, Minn.; two sons, Donald (Cindy Smith) Pilgrim, Edgar and Richard (Lisa) Pilgrim, Wausau; five grandchildren, Elizabeth Powell, Ashton Hocking, Cory, Robert and Lindsay Pilgrim; one great grandchild, Alexia Pilgrim; one brother, Clarence (Violet) Pilgrim, Stratford, and other relatives and friends. Besides his parents and wife, Helen, he was preceded in death by one brother, Orville. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, August 27, 2009 at St. John Lutheran Church, High Steeple. The Rev. Jeffrey Lambrecht will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday from 4 - 8 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Edgar and again on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the church. There will be a prayer service 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Online condolences may be expressed at www.petersonkraemer.com
