Linda C. Natzke

Linda C. Natzke, 83, 706 Munes Street, Athens, died Wednesday, June 19, 2002 at her home. Linda was born March 8, 1919, in Athens, daughter of the late Charles and Ella (Hardt) Fiedler. She married Erich Natzke at Trinity Lutheran Church, Athens on September 14, 1940. He preceded her in death January 31, 2001. Linda farmed with her husband Erich in the town of Hamburg for many years and she worked in the ginseng gardens at Fromm Brothers until she retired in 1978. Babysitting her grandchildren was of great joy to Linda. She was known as "Grandma Linda" not only to her grandchildren, but to the neighborhood children as well. Quilting also was a great source of joy for Linda, having made over 100 quilts for family and friends. Spending time in her garden and baking were also among her favorite things to do. She is survived by three daughters; Amaryllis "Tootie" (LeRoy) Bath, West Bend, Muriel (Darrell "Bozo") Zinkowich, Athens, Mavis (John) Dowe, Fredonia; four sons; Erich (Cheryl) Natzke, Grafton, Kenneth (Paulette) Natzke, Marathon, Larry (Geraldine) Natzke, Eleva, Allen (Michelle) Natzke, Athens; 18 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; two sisters; Esther Kautzer, Wausau, Adeline (Louie) Scherr, Oshkosh; one brother; Clarence (Ruth) Fiedler, Wild Rose; several nieces, nephews and friends. Besides her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by two brothers; Harold and Eddie Fiedler and one sister; Margaret Thurs. The funeral service will be on Monday, June 24, 2002 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, town of Hamburg. The Rev. Donald Schulz will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday, from 4-8 p.m. at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Athens, and again on Monday, from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the church in the town of Hamburg.
