Linda K. Halopka
40, 2727 County Line Road, Dorchester, died Saturday, April 26, 2003 in Milwaukee.
She was born March 12, 1963 in Medford, daughter of Darlene "Dolly" Duerr, Athens and the late LeRoy Hoff. On March 31, 1990, she married Todd Halopka in Dorchester. He survives.
Linda worked at Tombstone Pizza, Medford until 1990. She and her husband farmed and operated Custom Combining for the Halopka Equipment in Dorchester. She was a member and CCD teacher for St. Thomas Catholic Church, Milan, treasurer of DASE and was a foster parent. Among her favorite things to do besides riding snowmobile and walking, were working with her husband, going on cruises and enjoying their cabin in Phillips.
Besides her husband, Todd, Dorchester, survivors include three daughters, Beth Halopka, Winona, Jenny and Taylor Halopka, at home; mother and step father, Darlene "Dolly" (Clarence "Hunce") Schreiner, Athens; one sister, Annette "Nettie" (Keith) Kremsreiter, Athens; one brother, Michael Sr. (Joy) Hoff, Athens; mother-in-law & father-in-law, Marge & Eugene Halopka, Abbotsford; maternal grandmother, Ellen Duerr, Athens; six step sisters, Lisa (Roger) Young, Indiana, Lana (Joseph) Wogernese, Abbotsford, Linda (Randall) Kraft, Lori (Dennis) Zettler, Tami Schreiner and Sara Schreiner all of Athens; six step brothers, Karl (Kathryn) Schreiner, Thomas (Cynthia) Schreiner, Kurt (Renee) Schreiner, James (Tamara) Schreiner, Kenneth (Kimberly) Schreiner and Patrick (Sarah) Schreiner all of Athens.
Besides her father, she was preceded in death by two nephews, Ryan and Chad Stuttgen.
The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 29, 2003 at St. Thomas Catholic Church, Milan. Rev. Charles Hiebl will preside. Burial will be in the Milan Cemetery. Friends may call from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Athens and again from 10:00 a.m. Tuesday until the time of services at the church.
There will be a parish vigil services at 7: 30 p.m. Monday evening at the Athens funeral home.
In lieu of flowers a memorial is being established.
