Lillian B. O'Brien, 88, Wausau, died Wednesday January 9, 2002 at Marywood Convalescent Center, Wausau.
She was born February 3, 1913 in Edgar, daughter of the late August and Anna (Passehl) Gartmann. On July 3, 1933 she married Raymond O'Brien in Gleason. He preceded her in death in 1956.
Prior to her retirement Lillian was a clerk for the F.W. Woolworth Store. She enjoyed gardening, flowers spending time with her grandchildren and crocheting.
Survivors include her sons Don (Carol) O'Brien, Lake Alfred, FL., Neil (Colleen) O'Brien, Mosinee; a daughter Janet (Charles) Wirt, Brokaw; ten grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild; a brother Rueben (Nancy) Gartmann, Merrill; sisters, Ivy Hoffmann, Merrill, Stella Hawkins, FL, Evelyn Mielke and Gertie VanSlate, both of Wausau. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother August O'Brien, and sisters Mabel Payne and Anna Heckendorf.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday January 12, 2002 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Wausau. Rev. Gary Schultz will officiate Burial will be in the Gleason Cemetery. Friends may call Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
