Lillian Helen Mucha
100, Wausau, went home to be with her Savior on Monday February 15, 2010 at Mount View Care Center.
She was born November 2, 1909 in Marathon Township, daughter of the late Louis and Caroline (Martin) Sicklinger. On May 9, 1942, she married Alfred "Al" Mucha at St. Sebastian's Catholic Church, Chicago. He preceded her in death on December 30, 1974.
Lillian worked various jobs in the Chicago area for many years. Among them were jobs as head waitress at the Plaza Hotel, head inspector at Stewart-Warner, Eversharp Pen Co. and Appleton Electric. For 12 years, Lillian and her husband owned and operated Al & Lil's Lunchroom in Rogers Park, Ill. Later, she worked at Marshall Field's as a sales lady in coats and furs. In the early 1960's Lil and Al moved to Appleton where she was a sales clerk at Gloudeman's. Lillian had been a resident of Wausau since 1975. She was a former commander and current member of Gerald Graveen Chapter #64 of the DAV Auxiliary. In her early 90's Lillian led an exercise class every Monday morning at Riverview Towers. She was featured in the Lifestyle section of the Wausau Daily Herald.
She was loved greatly by her family and friends, and cared for lovingly by the staff at Mount View Care Center.
Survivors include her son-in-law, Clemens Wadzinski, Rothschild, stepson-in-law Tony Michalec, Manchester, NH; five grandchildren, Pamela (Michael) Rewey, Madison; Jeff (Fay) Wadzinski, Ruskin, FL; Russ (Debbie) Wadzinski, Tomahawk; Jay (Carrie) Wadzinski, Melbourne Beach, FL; Jodell (Bill) Brumfield, Howard, OH; one step-granddaughter, Cyndia (Gerald) Griffin, Manchester, NH; 15 great-grandchildren; three step great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and husband, Al, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Arleen "Dottie" Wadzinski on December 31, 2009; her stepdaughter Betty Michalec on September 7, 2009, one great-great-granddaughter, Samara Woodland; four sisters, Isabella Graveen, Mildred Christianson, Margaret Senoraske and Frances "Peetsie" Dehnel; and five brothers, Alois, Ambrose, Clifford, Frederick and Roman Sicklinger.
The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Saturday February 20, 2010 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Marathon. Rev. Joseph Diermeier will preside. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
