Lillian M. Feiner

July 2, 1956 — June 21, 2025

Lillian M. Feiner, 68, of Athens, folded up her tent and went home to the Lord (2 Cor. 5: 1&6) on June 21, 2025, at Marshfield Medical Center, from complications of a stroke.

Born July 2, 1956, in Richland Center, WI, first child of Francis and Dolores (Weidner) Feiner, she grew up in Spring Green, WI, and attended St. John the Evangelist grade school and River Valley Middle/High School, graduating in 1974.

Lil’s whole life was all about music: piano lessons starting at age six, playing for local churches by age 12, band and accompaniment gigs in high school, then off to UW Eau Claire to earn a bachelor’s degree in music education. She taught in Mosinee schools for two years and then took a teaching job at St. Anthony School in Athens, where she taught music, math, language arts, and religion until retiring in 2016. Besides accompanying solo and ensemble entries from Athens High School (even before retirement), she filled her post-retirement years with musical responsibilities at three different churches and volunteer hours of piano at the Athenian Assisted Living Community.

When Lil was able, she enjoyed traveling, camping, and attending the Coker kids’ ball games in all seasons.

Survivors include her best friend of 40+ years, Joanne Roll; her brother, Mark (Lori); her sister, Mary (Chris) Blum; her brother, Kelly (Charlene); nieces, Jessica (Joe) Virnich and Emily (Tyson) Koch; nephews, Sam (Brooke) Blum and Isaac Blum; niece, Riley Feiner; great-nephews, Liam and Cooper Virnich; and great-nieces, Amara Jo Blum and Avery Koch.

Lil is preceded in death by her parents, Francis and Dolores.

Visitation will take place on Monday, July 7, 2025, from 4 P.M. until 7 P.M. at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Athens, and on Tuesday, July 8, from 10 A.M. until the funeral Mass at noon, celebrated by Rev. George N. Graham. A Celebration of Life and burial will take place in Spring Green, WI, at a later date. Online condolences may be expressed at www.petersonkraemer.com.

The family would like to thank the incredible staff at Marshfield Medical Center–doctors, nurses, comfort staff–for their patient and compassionate care of Lil during the last two weeks of her life.
