LeRoy A. Sturm
84, Wausau died Saturday, December 12, 2009 under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services at Marywood Convalescent Center, Wausau.
He was born October 24, 1925 in the town of Maine, son of the late Arthur and Ella (Luepke) Sturm. On October 1, 1949 he married Gerraine Brandt at St. Peter Lutheran Church, town of Hamburg. LeRoy and Gerraine recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.
For more than 35 years LeRoy drove delivery truck for Stueber's Dairy Products in Wausau and then drove a bus route for WATTS. Following his driving career LeRoy was a crossing guard at the Thomas Jefferson grade school through 2003.
Some of his favorite pastimes were listening to music, (polkas and waltzes) traveling, camping, boating and gardening. LeRoy was a member of First English Lutheran Church in Wausau where he was a greeter and an usher. He was fond of the Green Bay Packers often adjusting his Sunday schedule to fit in the game. But nothing was more important to LeRoy then his family especially his grandchildren whom he loved spending time with.
Survivors include his wife, Gerraine Sturm, Wausau his children, Sandra (Jeffrey) Wolf, Kronenwetter and Terry (Anne) Sturm, Rib Mountain and his three grandchildren, Jeremiah and Shanna Wolf and Eric Sturm; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Ellart Sturm, one step brother Elgart Dinnis and his step father Otto Dinnis.
Funeral services will be held 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, December 16, 2009 at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau. The Rev. Scott Mann will officiate. Entombment will be in Memorial Chapel Mausoleum, Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. all at the Sixth Street funeral home.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in LeRoy's name.

The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to Dr. Ivan Schaller and his staff, the staff and nurses with Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services and the staff at Maywood Convalescent Center for the outstanding care they have all given to LeRoy during his illness.
We will always remember your kind smile, your humor and wit and your willingness to help us when needed. We will miss you as a very caring husband, dad and grandpa. You will forever be in our hearts.
