Leonard ''Lenny'' Detert

CMSGT Leonard G. Detert (USAF, Retired) Leonard G. 'Lenny' Detert, 56, a resident of Colorado Springs since 1984, passed away February 17, 2003, at a local hospice. He was born January 19, 1947, in Wausau, Wisconsin, to Leonard C. and Betty L. (Weinberger) Detert. Betty survives and lives in Wausau. CMSgt. Detert served in the United States Air Force for 22 years. After retirement from the Air Force, he was a Software Test Engineer for Northrup Grumman Corp. Leonard married Margaret A. 'Peggy' Peroutka October 29, 1966, in Wausau, Wisconsin. Leonard is survived by his wife; his two sons, Christopher P. (Kira) Detert and their sons Ryan and Brandon, of Colorado Springs; and Todd M. (Lynette and her sons: Nicholas, Joshua, and Jacob) Detert of Ellicott, Colorado; one brother, James L. Detert of Wausau, Wisconsin; and two sisters, Hedy L. (Boyce) Archie of Eagle River, Wisconsin, and Wendy F. (Benjamin) Misikin of Spencer, Wisconsin, as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by a son, Scott Stephen Detert. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, February 21, 2003 at St. Patrick's Church, 6455 Brook Park Drive, Colorado Springs. A reception at the church will follow the Mass. Visitation will be from 5 - 7 p.m. Thursday, February 20, 2003 at the Shrine of Remembrance. A Vigil service will follow at 7 p.m. A graveside service will be held at Restlawn Memorial Park in Wausau, Wisconsin, on Monday, February 24, 2003, at 11:00 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Leonard Detert Memorial Fund c/o Ent Federal Credit Union, 4545 Galley Road, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80915. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau is in charge of local arrangements.
