Leonard M. Brzezinski

Leonard "Lenny" M. Brzezinski, 85, Wausau, died Thursday, May 29, 2014 at Mount View Care Center, Wausau. He was born January 2, 1929 in Wausau, son of the late Barney and Mary (Kryzan) Brzezinski. In December of 1973, he married Jean D. Kalbes in Wausau. She preceded him in death on December 4, 1998. Lenny was a veteran of the United States Airforce and was a member of the American Legion Montgomery Plant Post No. 10, Wausau and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Burns Post No. 388, Wausau. Lenny worked for GTE for many years until his retirement. Among his favorite pastimes, he enjoyed bowling and was an avid Green Bay Packers fan. Lenny was a season ticket holder and was proud to have been a spectator at the 1967 "Ice Bowl". Survivors include, his step-daughter, Cathy Tiffany, Wausau; one sister, Jane (Mohammad) Fayyaz, Madison; two brothers, Bob (Jean) Brzezinski, Wausau and Paul (Sharon) Brzezinski, Hilton Head, SC; and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents and wife, Jean, he was preceded in death by one sister, Phyllis Buss; one brother, Ronald Brzezinski; and an infant brother. The memorial mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 5, 2014 at St. Michael Catholic Church, Wausau. Rev. William Grevatch will preside. Burial will be in the Stettin Christian Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the church.
