Leona A. Olejniczak

Leona A. Olejniczak 88, formerly of 110 Adrian Street, Wausau, died Saturday November 29, 2003 at the Hospice House, Wausau. She was born June 25, 1915 in Wausau, daughter of the late Ignatius "Nicholas" and Mary (Ligman)Olejniczak. Prior to her retirement, Leona had been employed for 42 years at the former American Can Corp., Wausau. She enjoyed gardening, bowling and spending time with her family. Leona was a member of the Quarter Century Club at American Can and was a member of St. Catherine Council at Holy Name Parish, Wausau. Survivors include a brother, John (Regina) Olejniczak, Milwaukee, a sister, Lucille Beauchaine, Columbus, Ohio and a sister-in-law, Grace Olejniczak, Wausau. Leona was a special aunt and second mother to nieces Mary Rader, Janice Yoho, Virginia (Wayne) Christiansen, all of Wausau, Jeanette (Norm) Mueller, Albequerque, New Mexico; nephews, Stanley Jr. (Lorraine) Olejniczak, Schofield, James (Deanna) Olejniczak, Mosinee, Richard Olejniczak, Wilcox, Ariz., Michael (JoAnn) Olejniczak, Wausau. She is further survived by other nieces and nephews, greatnieces and greatnephews. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Stanley Sr. and Walter Olejniczak, two sisters, Verna LaDusire and Anna Olejniczak. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Weds. December 3, 2003 at the Church of the Holy Name of Jesus, Wausau. Rev. Joseph Gyim-Austin will preside. Burial will be in St. Michael Cemetery, Wausau. Friends may call on Tuesday from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau and again on Weds. from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the church. There will be a parish and St. Catherine Council Prayer Service at 7 p.m. Tuesday evening at the Sixth Street funeral home. Pallbearers for the service will be; Kevan, Keith, David, Mark Olejniczak, Randy Yach and Randy Graff.
