Leona A. Leitermann

Leona A. Leitermann 88, Wausau, died Wednesday, February 8, 2006 at Mount View Care Center, Wausau. She was born April 1, 1917 in the town of Rib Falls, daughter of the late Fred and Anna (Doberstein) Paul. On June 1, 1935 she married Raymond Leitermann in the town of Rib Falls. He preceded her in death August 27, 1987. Leona worked at Wausau Hospital Inc. for over 30 years in the SPD Department and also at John Muir Middle School as a cook. Some of Leona's favorite pastimes were fishing, playing cards and listening to polkas. She was also a past president of the Trinity Lutheran Church Ladies Aide. Most of all, Leona cherished the time she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She took great pride in her grand kids, always cheering them on showing her support for all their events. Survivors include her children, Lou Ann (Ronald) Heller, Tomahawk, Sandra Nash, East Lansing, Michigan and James (Debra) Leitermann, Schofield, six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Besides her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her grandson, Todd Mohr and one sister Ida Paul. Funeral services will be at Noon, Saturday, February 11, 2006 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Wausau. The Rev. Orville Jank will officiate. Burial will St. John Lutheran Cemetery, town of Rib Falls. Friends may call on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 3400 Stewart Avenue, is in charge of arrangements.
